Virtual orientation cum introductory session organized

A week long virtual orientation cum introductory was organized from 24th to 29th August by Multani Mal Modi college, Patiala. The main objective of this event was to acquaint the students to the college life, the teaching learning processes, student support facilities available, various societies and clubs for varied exposures to the students. In the introductory of the session Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the students to the college. He made the students aware of the implications of the prevailing COVID 19 situation on the society and the role of the youth to mitigate and respond to the societal concerns in the light of this unprecedented situation. He emphasized that the pandemic is also an opportunity to remind ourselves of the emergent life skills such as informed decision making, critical thinking, creative problem solving and adaptability. He also ensured that college is committed for providing best digital resources and advanced learning technologies to its students. Registrar Dr. Ajit Kumar exposed the students to the digital preparedness of the college in the form of virtual classes and on line education system while Prof. V.P. Sharma, DSW provided the time table. Dean Commerce Faculty Prof. Neena Sareen convened the session of commerce and management students, while Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Dean Bio-Sciences convened the orientation for science faculty.

Prof. Vinay Garg incharge IT cell while discussing the process of online registration and enrolment said that we are with latest digital and smart classrooms and the campus is turned into a wi-fi zone to handle the best class room learning. Dr. Ganesh Sethi informed the students about various scholarship schemes and how to apply for them. Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean Co-curricular activities informed about the cultural activities while Dr. Harmohan Sharma about various clubs and societies. Dr. Rajeev Sharma exposed the students to the NSS and Buddy Programe. Dr. Rohit Sachdeva and Dr.Sukhdev singh discussed the technical and learning resources developed by the college to facilitate the students. In the various capacity building workshops and technical webinars organized by the college for the teachers there were trainings and demonstrations for utilization of online class rooms, meetings and assessment systems. The teachers also learned to develop e-content for various subjects and topics along with video tutorials. Dr. Jagdip Kur exposed the students to the women cell. Prof. Shailera Sidhu, Dean Arts Faculty informing about the anti ragging cell and invited students’ creative expressions for college magazine The Luminary. She also proposed vote of thanks for the organization the week long orientation programme.

These sessions were attended by large number of students and faculty members.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰੋਨਾ-ਮਹਾਂਮਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇ-ਨਜ਼ਰ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਲਈ ਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਆਨ-ਲਾਈਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 24 ਅੱਗਸਤ ਤੋਂ 29 ਅਗਸਤ ਤੱਕ, ਪੂਰਾ ਹਫਤਾ ਵਿਰਚੂਅਲ ਉਰੀਅਨਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ, ਅਧਿਆਪਨ ਦੇ ਢੰਗ- ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੂਬਰੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਦੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਅਨਿੰਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤੱਤਪਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਹਾਂਮਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਕਰਨ, ਆਲੋਚਨਾਤਮਕ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ, ਮਿਲ-ਜੁਲਕੇ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲ ਲੱਭਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਸੀ ਸਹਿਹੋਂਦ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ-ਪੱਖੀ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਵਿਕਿਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੌਰ ਜਲਦੀ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਅਤਿ-ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਮਾਧਿਅਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਪੰਹੁਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੱਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਰਚੂਅਲ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਨ-ਲਾਈਨ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੀ. ਪੀ. ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਂ-ਸੂਚੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਆਈ.ਟੀ. ਸੈੱਲ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਰਟ-ਕਲਾਸ ਰੂਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਾਈ-ਫਾਈ ਜ਼ੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੜਾ੍ਰਈ ਨਿਰ-ਵਿਘਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇ। ਬਰਸਰ ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਵੱਖੋਂ-ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ਵਜ਼ੀਫਾ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਤਰਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਡੀਨ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਓਰੀਐਂਨਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ ਲਾਈਫ਼ ਸਾਇੰਸੀਜ਼ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਓਰੀਐਂਨਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਣ-ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਪਿਸਟੀ ਬਿਲਿਡਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਨ-ਲਾਈਨ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕਰਨ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਈ-ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀਡੀੳ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ, ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਹੇਵੰਦ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹੀ ਡਾ.ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੂ-ਮੈਨ ਸੈੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ਲਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ, ਡੀਨ ਆਰਟਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਐਂਟੀ-ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਮੈਂਗਜ਼ੀਨ ‘ਲਿਊਮਨਰੀ’ ਲਈ ਸਾਹਤਿਕ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਭੇਜਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਉਰੀਨਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਵੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।
